My practice philosophy is to provide the best quality dental care for my patients while emphasizing comfort, function, health, and aesthetics. I treat every patient like family. If a patient is in pain, he or she will be seen that day. Being a prevention-oriented practice, patients are shown better ways to brush, floss, and care for their teeth. Since each tooth in the mouth is necessary for optimum jaw function, my goal is to help you keep all your teeth an entire lifetime.
Dentistry offers me the opportunity to provide valuable skills for my patients while building relationships with people from many diverse backgrounds. I really enjoy getting to know my patients individually and find it very rewarding to learn about their lives outside the office, their jobs, their hobbies, and their families. When it comes down to it, dentistry is really about people, not just about teeth.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Biology — University, 1969
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery — Marquette School of Dentistry, 1973
- Orthodontic Internship — St. Michael's Hospital, Milwaukee, WI
I started practicing at Menomonie Street Dental in Eau Claire in June of 1973. From 1973 to 1976, I practiced at Menomonie Street Dental, Eau Claire, and at our satellite clinics in Augusta and Fall Creek, as well as at the Eau Claire Manor Nursing Home. Now my time is solely spent at our office on Menomonie Street.
I am a firm believer in the importance of continuing education. Through the Pankey Institute, I have taken comprehensive courses on occlusion and oral full mouth reconstruction, and as an Invisalign® Elite Provider, have competed basic and advanced coursework in the study of improving smiles with clear aligner technology. I have also studied with the Dawson Seminars on occlusion and reconstruction.
In the Community
Because I have been blessed in my life, I try to use my abilities to give back to our community. One way I do this is to provide dental care for those less fortunate in our area. Additionally, I was involved for eight years with Feed My People, where I served on the board. I have also assisted with their fundraising and organizational growth.
Outside the Office
I was born in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and have resided in this area most of my life. I have four children, Jay, Justin, Troy, and Lindsay. My wife and I love spending time at our cabin in Hayward, WI, which provides our family with the year round enjoyment of fishing, boating, and winter activities. Golfing and skiing are two of my favorite leisure time activities. My oldest children, Jay and Justin, live in downtown Chicago. Troy, the youngest boy, lives in San Diego and Lindsay lives in Milwaukee. We are lucky that they live in fun places to visit.
